Introducing: The Opt-Out

Opt-out opportunity

Effective immediately, any company who wants to remove their products from Labdoor’s site will be provided that opportunity. Here are the rules:

  1. There are only two options. A Company can either: (a) Retain all of its Products on Labdoor’s Site. (b) Remove all of its Products from Labdoor’s Site. This is defined as an “Opt-Out.”
  2. If a Company initiates an Opt-Out, all of its Products will be removed from Labdoor’s Site within five business days.
  3. If a Company chooses to reverse their Opt-Out, they will be permitted to do so provided that they consent to returning all of their Products, including future Products that Labdoor may test, to our Site.
  4. By initiating an Opt-Out, the Company commits to be bound to the above rules.

This Opt-Out process will go into effect immediately.

We carefully designed Labdoor to be a win-win for both consumers and companies. Our goal is to have companies compete to win each consumer’s business using science, not marketing, to prove the quality of their products.

In an ideal world, every company would be thrilled to participate in Labdoor’s grading and ranking system. When companies compete to sell products on the basis of science, consumers win.

In an ideal world, every company that received a poor grade from Labdoor would immediately start working to improve the quality of their products. When companies compete to improve the purity and potency of their products, consumers win.

We also understand that we do not live in an ideal world. Labdoor regularly operates under the threat of lawsuits from companies that we review. We have long stood strong against these complaints, expending a great deal of time, money, and stress to defend ourselves.

Through this process, we have learned that there are some companies that have little interest in working within our system, and who will go to great lengths to try to force us to remove our reviews of their products from our site.

For now, we have decided to let them opt-out of our system.

We trust that consumers will help convince companies to work within our system, not against it, and allow all of their product data to be publicly available on Labdoor.

We also hope that all of these companies return to Labdoor one day. We will do our best to prove to these companies that, on Labdoor’s site, higher quality equals higher sales.
